PostgreSQL interactive terminal

psql  is a standard terminal front end for PostgreSQL that can connect through Kubling’s PostgreSQL compatibility transport.

For new terminal workflows, use the KDV SQL terminal, which connects through Kubling’s gRPC client transport. Use psql when an existing workflow specifically requires PostgreSQL compatibility.

psql cannot connect through Kubling’s native or gRPC transports.

Installation

Ubuntu 23.10,22.04 and Debian 12

sudo apt update sudo apt install postgresql-client

MacOS Using Homebrew

You will need the Brew Package Manager  installed on your system.

One done, open a terminal and just execute:

brew update brew install libpq

Optionally, symlink psql and other libpq tools and binaries, into /usr/local/bin:

brew link --force libpq

Windows

In windows, we do recommend installing using the postgresql installer .

psql -h <IP/HOSTNAME> -p 35432 -U <USERNAME> -W -d <VDB>
