Install Kubling
Kubling is distributed as a set of components rather than as one system-wide package. Install the runtime, project tooling and providers required by your deployment, using the delivery method that fits where each component runs.
Installing one component does not install a complete Kubling environment. The Kubling Engine, KDV CLI and providers are selected and upgraded independently.
Choose an installation method
Use official container images for local environments, CI and containerized deployments.
DockerConfigure the official APT repository and install the components published as signed Debian packages.
Debian and Ubuntu| Method | Best suited for | Release selection |
|---|---|---|
| Docker | Compose, Kubernetes, CI and other container runtimes | Image tag or digest |
| Debian package | Services and command-line tools managed directly on Debian or Ubuntu hosts | APT package version |
Not every component is published through every method. Consult the component’s documentation or the repository itself before choosing a package or image.
Components
| Component | Purpose | Documentation |
|---|---|---|
| Kubling Engine | Runs virtual databases, executes queries and exposes client endpoints | Engine |
| KDV CLI | Creates, validates, tests and packages Kubling projects | Install KDV |
| Providers | Connect Kubling to external systems and execute source operations | Provider catalog |
For a complete first environment, follow the Quickstart. The installation pages are intended for choosing and managing individual components in an existing environment.
